Mary Poppins Return (2018)

Hello again everyone! We meet again, this time I’m going to give you my opinion regarding this wonderful film I recently watched. Surely you must have known about it by now,    it is Mary Poppins Return (2018)! A brilliant return from the classic 1960s film Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Return has attracted old or even new fans. Mary Poppins Returns is a 2018 American musical fantasy comedy film directed by Rob Marshall, with a screenplay written by David Magee and a story by Magee, Marshall, and John DeLuca. Based on the book series Mary Poppins by P. L. Travers,[1] the film is a sequel to the 1964 film Mary Poppins, and stars Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth, and Meryl Streep in supporting roles. Set in 1930s London, twenty-five years after the events of the original film, the film sees Mary Poppins, the former nanny of Jane and Michael Banks, returning one year after a family tragedy. This magical adventure of a movie sure has many lovable and cherishable moments, but there is one scene that in my opinion really hits it home, it is none other than the return of THE Marry Poppins herself!

After her disappearance decades in the past, Mary Poppins made her spectacular comeback in 2018, gliding the sky and through the cloud while holding a patched kite rather than her usual umbrella. While her other moments is just as amazing, I’m sure everyone can agree this scene in particular made the best impression. The rush of joy and nostalgia during this scene surely made any watcher shed a tear. The loving and unpredictable nanny is here again to fulfill your childhood and of course, blew everyone’s mind.

Being the musical film as it is, Mary Poppins Return has its share of wonderful song and music, but in my opinion the best music, with the best lyric and meaning is “Can You Imagine That?” sung by Mary Poppins herself. Though I have to say my favorite lyric from the song is

"So perhaps we've learned after the day is done
Some stuff and nonsense can be fun"

After hard day of work and all stuff boring, sometime it is nice to lay back and let go of your imagination. The lyric hold true for the old viewer that has lost their childlike mind, it reminded them there is nothing wrong to be a child again and let loose rather than letting your imagination fade away.

Delicious “Dumpling”

What do you think about dead body? Corpse? Lifeless blob? Whatever you want to call it. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about dead body? Fear? Disgust? Sadness? Well certainly it’s not hunger, right? That’s what they all think, those naive, innocent, idiotic people. Because if you ask me, the first that comes to mind when I think about dead body is how delicious it is. Owh please, don’t judge me, yet…….. not until you tried THE human dumplings.

It was one chilly night, it was the dead of the night. I was going home from work after working overtime, then it suddenly hit me. My stomach is grumbling ruthlessly, I hadn’t realized I haven’t eaten anything while I was working. It was the middle of the night, obviously there are no restaurant around that still opens. That’s what I thought while I continue walking, holding my hunger until I get home. Then I heard a busy noise, it sounds like a restaurant. Feeling curious, I approaches the source of the noise. Then a bright light blind my eyes, it came from a food stall. Not just any food stall, it was a dumpling stall. Many people still gathers around the food stall even though it is the dead of the night. It must be delicious, I thought. Letting my hunger get the better of me, I then bought 16 dumplings. When I asked what meat is  inside those dumplings, the owner didn’t answer me, she just gives me a mischievous smile. Ignoring the mysterious owner, mostly because I was hungry, I then hurriedly went  home.

I got inside my house. I then changed my workwear to my normal attire. After I’m finished changing my clothes, I then open the package, and saw 16 delicious dumpling, But 16 dumplings is too much for me, so I only tried one of them. “Wow, it’s actually quite good, I’ll eat one more” I said to myself after finishing the first one.

“This is really good, How do they made this?’ I said after finishing the second dumpling.

“Oh my god, this is soooo good, it’s really delicious!” Said myself after finishing I don’t know how many dumpling. Then suddenly it’s GONE, it’s all gone. The box is empty, I tried looking everywhere but all of the dumpling is gone. I want more, I NEED more.

The next morning I then tried going to the dumpling store I found last night, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t find it. I search everywhere, I looked into every crook and cranny but NOTHING. Empty, empty, EMPTY, my life is just so empty without the dumplings, I can’t think of anything other than the dumplings. Any kind of food that I ate didn’t taste good anymore. I tried every kind of food, just to find the food that may even reach the level of goodness I felt. I tried every kind of vegetables and meat……..  Unless of course Human Flesh.

Ever since that thought occur to me, I never saw other people the same way again. What I saw is not a person, what I saw was food. I kept trying to get rid of that thought from my head. Until I finally SNAPPED.I finally tried human meat for the first time….. HAHAHAHAHA it’s the best feeling I’ve had in my life, the adrenaline, the tension, not to mention the heavenly taste of human. That night I kept scrapping the person I just killed, trying not to waste any bit of meat that is left.

Ever since that, I never ate any other meat than human. People may say that I am weird, but I don’t mind because I don’t discriminate FOOD.

Mystery Of Watu Dodol

Do you love mysteries? Something unknown, something that can’t be explained by human understanding, Something that intrigues your brain? Well consider yourself lucky, because I ve got a mystery for you! It’s called the mystery of Watu Dodol

Located at Banyuwangi, this huge rock reaching the height of 6m has been the source of mystery and misery according to the locals. Some say it is man made, some say it is a natural phenomenon, some even say that it is the work of supernatural being. The origin itself is a mystery, one thing is for sure though that rock is not normal.

Because of its huge volume, many attempts has been made to move the rock out of the road, but to no avail. People tried using trucks to pull the rock out of the way, but the truck mysteriously broke down rendering it useless. Some used a helicopter to try and carry the rock but the wind suddenly rages, making the helicopter unstable. It seems as though something is keeping people from moving it even a little. One of the locals said that a restless spirit lays dormant inside the rock. Some local lore also said that Watu Dodol is the pillar that kept the island above water, They say that if one day Watu Dodol moves from its space then all of Java will sink into the ocean.

Other than the Immovable rock, Watu Dodol also has other magical attributes, one being a magical tasteless water spring. Why is that so special? Here is the thing, that spring is also contaminated by the nearby seawater, but amazingly the spring doesn’t taste salty at all, In fact it’s tasteless. Locals believes that if you bathe in the magical spring your ailments and disease will be cured.

So what do you think? Is it a mystery after all? Can you explain  all of the phenomenon that has happened relating to Watu Dodol? Or does it remain a mystery? Leave your answer down below.
